Conservatives up the anti
Leader of Bristol's Conservative group, Richard Eddy has publicly offered to run the council in partnership with the Labour group. Putting party politics aside, its interesting to see someone be straightforward about the need for a settlement on the leadership of the council to be combined with a settlement to Keep Bristol Home Care. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=144913&command=displayContent&sourceNode=231190&home=yes&more_nodeId1=144922&contentPK=17352145

Richard Eddy straightforward? Simplistic maybe... straightforward NO. Does anyone have a clue what Eddy and his party of privatisation would do if they had the choice? They're certainly not saying, they're just enjoying mischief making and the headlines it brings.
ReplyDeleteWe might not be as politically sophisticated as you . . . but Richard Eddy has been very straightforward in support of the Home Care service. When we have invited him to attend events, he has turned up (unlike the Libs who just treat us with contempt.) When we have asked for his support he has given it. And last night I heard them say that they are the traditional party of privatisation and they never thought they would be backing the trade unions in a campaign against privatisation . . . but in this case they think it is wrong.
ReplyDeleteNow, you may be wanting to score points about political parties, but we are looking to Keep our Home Care service in house. Any friends we pick up along the way are welcome if they can help us to win.
No, I'm not wanting to score points about political parties, and I do want to see the service kept 'in-house'.
ReplyDeleteI do think you're being a bit naive trusting any party to do that without any clear assurances from them.
